## The quick answer

Start with Bask's authorized APIs and native Basky coverage. MCP can provide a shared tool interface; the support workflow still needs record matching, ownership, and result checks.

For an AI application working with Bask Health, start with Bask's documented integration options and the task you want the agent to complete. Add MCP when a common tool interface helps your architecture. Before building, also check whether Bask's native assistant already covers the task.

[Bask describes APIs and webhooks](https://bask.health/about), and [Basky AI](https://bask.health/basky-ai) is its own assistant offering. The public sources reviewed on October 17, 2026 did not establish an official public Bask Health MCP server. Confirm current availability through Bask before selecting a connector.

For most support teams, the goal is an answer about an order or account, followed by the work needed to resolve the issue. The integration should serve that outcome.

## What MCP adds to an AI application

The [Model Context Protocol architecture](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/docs/learn/architecture) defines how compatible AI applications connect with tools and context through servers. In a custom Bask setup, a server could provide an interface to functions permitted by your authorized vendor access.

That interface can help when several AI applications need the same tools. A single purpose-built support service may work well with direct API access instead. Choose the smallest architecture that meets your requirements and that your team can operate.

The connector supplies available tools. Your application still needs to select the right account and purchase, check current evidence, and handle failures. Review those responsibilities alongside server maintenance when estimating the build.

## Distinguish Basky, an MCP connector, and a support service

Start by separating the native assistant from the connection and the support operation you need.

| Option | Role | What to verify |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Basky AI | Bask's native assistant | Which tasks it handles in your account today |
| Custom direct API integration | Your application calls permitted functions | Current documentation, permissions, ownership, maintenance |
| MCP connector | Shared interface for compatible AI applications | Publisher, available tools, authentication, supported operations |
| Summer | Telehealth customer support around existing tools | Supported workflow, required access, human handoffs, scope |

A directory listing with Bask in the name is insufficient evidence of an official relationship. Establish who operates the service and verify its authorization through your vendor contact before granting access.

For a private endpoint, establish who operates it, which data it receives, how access can be revoked, and who maintains compatibility with Bask. Record those answers before a live pilot.

## Map one case before designing tools

Use a fictional customer asking why their order is delayed. They have an account, two purchases, and an earlier support conversation about only one of them.

Your application needs enough information to select the correct purchase and find relevant status records. It may also need payment history and pharmacy or carrier evidence. Establish where those sources live in your particular setup; do not assume the platform contains every record.

Write the desired result in plain terms: identify the current verified stage, determine what remains to be done, and give the customer an accurate next step. Then list the reads required to reach that result.

The design becomes easier to review when each tool serves one of those reads. Broad database access without a source map can make it harder to identify why an agent reached a conclusion.

## Design an AI skill that uses the evidence

An AI skill is an operating guide for the agent. It explains how to investigate the task, while a connector provides system access.

For Bask order support, the skill should explain how to establish account identity, match the relevant purchase, interpret source timestamps, and preserve missing evidence. It should also tell the agent when another person is needed and what information that person should receive.

Include contact history. If an existing partner inquiry has a promised response time, the agent should find it before sending another request. If a customer issue has already been resolved, a routine status event should not restart it.

For clinical questions, direct the patient to the appropriate clinician channel. Support may investigate portal access and logistics. Medication instructions remain with clinicians, including when the original clinical record is available.

## Keep changes separate from investigation

Reading an order and changing it create different responsibilities. A connector should expose only the functions intended for the workflow and enforce authorization outside the language model's instructions.

For any approved action, record what was requested, which account or order it concerned, and what the provider returned. If the result is uncertain, inspect the current state before attempting the same operation again.

A successful network response also needs interpretation. The support workflow should confirm that the intended business result occurred before telling the customer the change is complete. This applies especially to actions involving payments, account access, or fulfillment.

Document the approved changes separately from read access. That makes it easier for support and engineering to review exactly what an agent may do.

## Compare native coverage with the remaining support work

Ask Bask to demonstrate your selected case with the features available in your account. Then list what remains manual: locating external messages, checking a separate billing record, following a partner promise, or carrying the conversation across channels.

That remaining work is the right scope for an internal build or a Summer evaluation. It prevents buying a second assistant for a task your platform already handles while leaving the difficult exceptions unchanged.

Measure the number of complete cases and the work left with people. Include failed source reads and cases that need review. A useful report should make implementation gaps obvious enough to fix.

## Evaluate Summer with your actual Bask setup

Summer focuses on telehealth support for orders, pharmacy follow-ups, and billing across existing business tools. Confirm the relevant connections and responsibilities in a demo before treating a proposed workflow as supported.

[Book a Summer demo](https://gosummer.ai/book) to see where Summer fits around your Bask setup. Bring a redacted case that crosses Bask and another tool. We’ll review which work Summer can support, which connections it needs, and how the result compares with building your own connector and support agent.

For an engineering comparison, our [MD Integrations MCP guide](https://gosummer.ai/blog/md-integrations-mcp) explains similar decisions around APIs, tool interfaces, and support operations in a different clinical stack.

## Common questions

### Does Bask Health have an official MCP server?

The public sources reviewed for this guide did not establish one. Ask Bask about its current offering and verify any claimed connector before installing it or providing access.

### Is Basky AI the same as MCP?

No. Basky is a named assistant product. MCP is an integration protocol. A product can use tools through various interfaces; its existence does not establish a public MCP service.

### Can I create a Bask support skill without an API?

You can write the operating guide, but it cannot read unavailable records by itself. A useful live workflow requires an authorized way to access the necessary evidence.
